We’re Back From Mexico 🇲🇽 Something New Starts Monday!

Traveling, Food, and Connection.

Hello Reader, It's Yukari!

We’re back from Mexico, and before jumping straight into what’s next, we wanted to pause for a moment.

This trip wasn’t about doing everything.

It was peaceful, grounding, and full of small moments that stayed with us.

🇲🇽 What Mexico Reminded Us...

We surprised our Spanish teacher and his wife by showing up at their school (a little tears were involved 🥹), reunited with a bar owner we’ve known since his 10-seat pop-up days, and watched him now run a full restaurant on a main street.

That kind of growth hits differently when you’ve witnessed the beginning.

Mexico reminded us why food, places, and people are so deeply connected, and we’ve been quietly saving memories along the way.

If you want to see more, we’re still sharing stories and reels on Instagram, and we saved past ones in our Highlights so you can catch up anytime!

Now… here’s the exciting part 👀

🧊 Frozen vs. Fresh starts Monday (2/9/2026)

We’re officially launching our Frozen vs. Fresh series on Instagram this Monday!

Same dish.

Two versions.

One frozen, one made from scratch.

And then… Aric blindfolds me and lets the taste alone decide.

Just honest reactions from me, and later, Aric has his own.

We’ll send details!

🍜 A little comfort, coming soon

There are so many foods we keep thinking about from this trip.

Birria stew, Birria tacos, Chile relleno, Papa rellena, shrimp Diablo, rotisserie chicken...

Traveling always opens our eyes and stirs our curiosity, and motivates us to recreate the dishes we loved from these places when we return home.

We recently found out how easy it is to make Sopa de Fideo, a simple, comforting soup we used to eat often at comida corrida in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Light.

Warm.

Familiar.

The kind of food that doesn’t try too hard.

We’re working on turning that into a simple recipe freebie to share with you soon.

Just something cozy for your kitchen.

Thanks for being at our Kitchen Table, on this cozy little corner of the internet, for following along, and for letting us share not just what we cook, but why we cook. 🧡

With gratitude and friendship,

Hello Reader, It's Yukari! I hope you had a beautiful Easter and got to enjoy a little spring sunshine. Food, Connections, and Memories Last Easter Sunday, Aric and I were invited to our clients’ Easter crab boil party, and it was one of those gatherings that reminded me why food matters so much. They went all out. There were inflatable unicorn and lobster costumes for the egg hunt, little eggs filled with chocolates and gifts, and a few hidden golden eggs with special surprises. And, of...

Hello Reader, It's Yukari! Do you meditate? Because I don’t. 😅But a few days ago in Muay Thai class, my coach said something that stuck with me:“This is your time. It’s a beautiful, quiet moment to have.”Muay Thai moves fast, but he meant we still needed to slow down, stay calm, and focus on the technique. And somehow, that made me think about cooking. Is Cooking Really Stressful or Just Not Worth the Effort? We hear messages all the time:You’re busy. 😫Cooking is hard. 🥺Let us do it for you....

Hello Reader, It's Yukari! It’s March in Colorado, and somehow it’s already hot and dry. Our dish pit pup, Senna, is hiding inside, but our sous chef kitten, Ka-En the firecracker, is living his best life in the sunny window.Last Saturday, I attended a Muay Thai seminar to improve my timekeeping responsibility. I brought extra coffee and a notebook. I came home with a fried brain and one big reminder: You Learn by Doing It You don’t learn just by watching. You learn by doing. And that’s...
